The Beaches of Tenerife

If you have plans to visit the island of Tenerife, then you have probably already done some research on it. You then know that most of the beaches there are black sand because of the volcanic rock foundations.  There are few natural beaches on this island so the tourists have little space for sun bathing.  Because of this, the resorts have been built and they have imported golden sand from other areas.  The visitors to this island stay mainly in the south end because there are more hours of sun there.  One of the biggest tourist areas is the city of Arona in the Santa Cruz of Tenerife province.  Just about two million tourists visit that area each years.

If you are one who has booked your holidays in Tenerife, then you will be sure to find many lovely beaches that are both small and beautiful.  These small beaches are protected by man -made breakwaters so the man-made beaches do not get washed away. Because so many people visit this island for the beach fun, you should be prepared to encounter many other tourists. There are various types of water sports for you to enjoy here and the beaches are so small that they are actually just a few feet from each other.

Many tourist love the nightlife here along with the famous black beach and many young people and Europeans are found here.  Playa de las Teresitas is an artificial beach that is in the north. In 1973 more golden sand from the Sahara desert was brought in and so were palm trees. These extras created a very popular beach where you can either rest and relax or join an aerobic class or join in a game of volleyball.  After all your exercising, you can then spend the rest of your day at one of the bars or restaurants that are in the shade of the transplanted palm trees. This is a great place for families with children.  It is easy to find cheap holidays to Canary Islands by just doing a search online.  You will find that you can make arrangements that fit your budget and time frame.   Be sure to compare different flight options so you can choose the cheapest one or the the best fits you needs.  Don’t forget the north is more native and the south part of the island is more adapted to the tourism.  Decide which one is for you before you choose your accommodations.

Beautiful Paphos

Cyprus is one of the most amazing travel destinations in the world. It’s been given some bad reputation recently because of the conflict between the Greek and Turkish Cypriots, but that shouldn’t stop you from going. The conflict does exist, but it hasn’t escalated and there is no actual fighting going on. The United Nations have some serious presence in the island just to make sure that peace is kept, and there’s no doubt that has worked perfectly. It’s more of a bureaucratic war right now, between the two governments.

Going on holidays to Paphos Cyprus is an amazing experience. For those of you not familiar with Cyprus, the island is in the Mediterranean and close to the Greek islands. Its proximity with Europe, Asia and the Middle East make it an amazing strategic position, but it also provides the tourist with an amazing blend of cultures, in all senses. You can experience amazing food with all sorts of influences and the music in the country is enjoyable even if you happen not to like the particular style, because it fits into the general atmosphere and the landscape of the island.

Paphos is a town in the western part of the island. It’s been around since practically forever, and Paphos, in Greek mythology, it the birthplace of Aphrodite, goddess of Love. If seeing the kind of beauty that could have given birth to the goddess of Beauty isn’t enough to convince you, then read on.

The port in Paphos is probably one of the most beautiful in the world. The city was an important Roman town, residence of the Governor. It didn’t lose its importance throughout the years. That means that Paphos has more than just beautiful beaches and amazing sceneries. There are a lot of historical sites to visit, from ancient Roman sites to early Christian churches and the Tombs of the Kings, an amazing underground necropolis that hasn’t even been fully discovered.

Now, it might not be easy to find a decent deal for a flight and a hotel in Paphos. But that’s why the Internet is your friend. Websites like DealChecker will help you along your way. The site will give you the chance to get a hotel booking and a flight into Cyprus for a good deal, since they buy in bulk and then can offer competitive prices. You’ll also have a chance to look around for a good car rental deal – it might be worth it for the freedom.
