The cheap option

Taking a trip down Bargain Street isn’t everyone’s idea of fun, but it sure is becoming a lot of people’s pastime. And this is primarily due to the advent of the internet and online shopping. Having the freedom to buy stuff from your computer screen with just a couple of clicks and a credit card has evolved to something a lot more complicated than just a matter of convenience. It’s now a hobby.

See, nobody really likes to shop online for groceries. People like to hunt for bargains. Nobody will be proud to buy a carton of milk at half price at an online store, but if your neighbor finds a website full of links to cheap luxury hotels or half priced gaming consoles, you’ll almost surely bite, even if you’re not going on holiday or hate video games. The internet had changed the way we go a lot of things before, from banking to filling out our tax form, and this is just one more of them.

Because the internet made taking the cheap option a glamorous road to go down. And because you can only press the random button on Wikipedia, or watch subscription videos on YouTube so many times before you get bored.
